What is the "Tokyo Tokyo Festival"?

"Tokyo Tokyo Festival" is a project to celebrate and enhance the mood
for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics throughout
Japan by promoting the culture and the appeal of Tokyo and
Japan domestically and globally in cooperation with a broad range of concerned parties.
By referring to the cultural program of Tokyo to be implemented in six months starting in April 2020
when the strongest attention is gained from Japan and the world,
as "Tokyo Tokyo Festival," the culmination of cultural programs will be carried out.
For the rest of the period till 2020, "Road to Tokyo Tokyo Festival" will also be implemented
to foster an atmosphere further.
With these cultural programs, we will strive for not only enhancing the Olympic mood,
but also leaving legacy of culture beyond 2020.

Public invitation

Cross-genre* arts and culture programs that may surprise the world are invited.

Selected programs will be implemented in the period between autumn 2019 and September 2020. All applicants are requested to use this opportunity that will attract attention from the world to demonstrate their creativity and challenger spirit.

*Categories
Music, drama, dance, arts, photograph, literature, media art (video, manga, animation, game, etc.), traditional performing art, entertainment, lifestyle culture (tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, food culture, etc.), fashion, architecture and cross-genre art activities (compound) could be the categories of the programs.
